These Terms govern your use of Grant Compass ("the Service") provided at grantcompass.co.uk. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Your account
You must be 18 or over and authorised to act on behalf of your organisation. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
2. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes or to upload content you don't have rights to.
- Do not attempt to break, probe, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- Do not use the Service to send spam or to harvest contact details from third parties.
- Do not upload malware, illegal content, or anything that infringes another party's rights.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of all data and content you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content only as required to operate the Service for you. We will not sell Your Content, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it to train AI models.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly basis via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
5. Free tier and fair use
Free accounts are subject to reasonable usage limits to protect the Service for everyone. We may contact you if usage looks unusual or automated.
6. AI features
Some features use third-party AI models (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI). When you invoke an AI action, the relevant inputs are sent to the chosen provider for processing. AI output may be inaccurate — you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it for any funding decision or external communication.
7. Availability
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees on free plans. We may perform maintenance and will give reasonable notice where possible.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, with notice where practical.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including lost grants, lost revenue, or lost data, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
